Decarbonization of trucks, municipal transport and buses

Seminar participants will discuss how businesses can remain competitive while achieving renewable energy and climate goals.

In Latvia, light and heavy goods vehicles, municipal transport, as well as buses, account for more than 40% of all road transport emissions. So far, the discussion on the decarbonization of trucks, municipal transport and buses has been absent. How quickly to introduce biomethane and other alternative fuel (LNG, CNG, H2) vehicles, how to accelerate the electrification of freight transport, municipal transport and buses, how to change vehicle operating tax rates and fuel taxes, how to use the latest EU transport decarbonization initiatives - this will be discussed at the seminar by market participants and representatives of state administration and municipalities.
