Tikšanās par kravas un komunālā transporta ilgtspējīgu attīstību!

On February 28 in Riga, our association organized an event that brought together industry professionals – transport companies, infrastructure developers, and policymakers – to jointly discuss future opportunities for the development of sustainable transport.

🔹 During the meeting, we discussed:

✅ The availability of EU funds and other financial instruments that could support infrastructure development and the purchase of zero-emission freight vehicles;

✅ Tax incentives and other support mechanisms that would promote sustainable transport.

Currently, Latvia lacks state support mechanisms for the decarbonization of heavy transport, unlike our neighboring countries. Such mechanisms are critically needed – from the purchase of zero-emission freight vehicles to the development of suitable charging and refueling infrastructure. Industry representatives emphasized that the absence of such support hinders the development of a sustainable transport system and reduces the competitiveness of companies in the region.
